Do coaches receive any special training?

All PYFA coaches are trained and certified as USA Football youth contact coaches.

What does the registration fee pay for?

Registration fees are used to fund the PYFA and offset operational expenses for the league.  

Do I have to live in Piedmont to play on a PYFA team?

No. Athletes that are enrolled in Piedmont, Deer Creek, Cashion, or Okarche public school districts are eligible to play/cheer for a PYFA team. Others may be eligible to play if a waiver request is approved by the INFC (case by case basis).

What equipment is required to play football?

Each athlete is required to furnish their own helmet, mouthguard, shoulder pads, game uniform (jersey and pants), practice uniform (jersey and pants), pads/girdle for football pants, socks, and cleats.

When are games played?

Games are played on Saturdays during the season. Game times and locations can be found under the Schedule link.

Where are games played?

Home games will be played at the Piedmont High School Football Stadium. Away games will be played at area opponents’ stadiums. Game times and locations can be found under the Schedule link.

What are the rules of youth football?

How often are practices?

Practice schedules are set by each team’s coach; however, first and second graders cannot practice more than three times per week. Third through sixth graders cannot practice more than four times per week.
